Responsibilities
As a State and Local tax team member, you’ll collaborate with a team of tax specialists and consultants with advanced tax and industry experience, helping clients solve complex tax issues and facilitate better decision making. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.
- Passion for state and local tax compliance
- Desire to work with other like-minded state and local tax professionals collaboratively in a team environment
- Capacity to proactively manage multiple projects and clients
- 2+ years’ experience in state income and franchise tax preparation, including state income and franchise tax returns, extensions, estimated payments, historical filings, and notices
- Understanding of apportionment, state modifications, nexus, unitary filings, and flow-through taxation
- State research and writing skills or willingness to learn with training
- Ability to research state tax rules as they affect state tax compliance
Job Requirements and Preferences
- Experience with preparation and review of state corporate, partnership and S Corp tax returns
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience with tax software such as CCH research, Thomson Reuters GoSystem and similar platforms
- Big Four or second tier firm experience highly desirable, but not necessary
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in accounting, finance, or related field or relevant industry in-house work experience

What You’ll Do
As a member of the SALTovation team at TaxOps, you will be a valuable member on tax engagements and complete timely tax compliance tasks for a diverse and dynamic client base in various industry sectors. You will continue to grow your technical knowledge in state taxation by working on sophisticated tax projects and will have access to the exceptional tools and resources you will need for your success.
At TaxOps, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate for this position is a range of $65,000 to $110,000. The wage range for this role takes into account a wide set of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

Responsibilities
As a Tax Senior, you’ll collaborate with a team of tax specialists and consultants with advanced tax and industry experience, helping clients solve complex tax issues and facilitate better decision making.
- Prepare relevant business returns and income tax provisions
- Provide tax planning and research
- Provide Tax Manager with regular updates on project status
- Work positively and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proactively manage multiple projects and clients
Job Requirements and Preferences
- Big Four or second tier firm experience highly desirable, but not necessary
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field (advanced degree in taxation a plus)
- CPA or working on completion of CPA (earning within 1 year of date of hire) desired
- Experience with preparation and review of corporate, partnership and S Corp tax returns, as well as high net-worth individuals
- Exposure to preparation and review of income tax provision in accordance with ASC-740 a plus
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess, Engagement, /CCH research, and similar platforms
