
TaxOps is excited to welcome Bob Newkirk to the team! Bob specializes in R&D tax credits, bringing valuable insights and a consultative mindset to each engagement. His understanding of business, technology and innovation allows him to efficiently review and analyze financial data and information in ways that maximize credits to the full extent of the law.

With years of experience in public and corporate accounting, Bob has successfully provided financial, legal, and transactional support to organizations of all sizes. In addition, he has served as a board member for five private and venture-backed entities on the Board of Directors, contributing expertise in developing innovative, science-based solutions. His contributions to these businesses highlight his commitment to fostering groundbreaking advancements in various industries.
Bob’s diverse career encompasses accounting, management, teaching and law. He began his career in the Entrepreneurial Services group of Ernst & Young. He subsequently joined the SEC in the Office of the General Counsel in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for reviewing accounting violations. Additionally, Bob spent 12 years practicing corporate law in an international firm and two Fortune 100 companies. At UnitedHealth Group, his various roles included CFO for UnitedHealth Capital and general partner in two private equity funds, overseeing investments of nearly $90 million across 16 companies.
Bob holds a law degree from the University of Chicago and dual degrees, accounting and economics, from the University of Illinois.
