Judy Vorndran has been named a finalist for the Denver Business Journal’s 20th annual Outstanding Women in Business awards. Her work in simplifying the morass of sales tax for businesses and professionals across the nation has been instrumental in changing laws to benefit businesses and consumers.

In Colorado, Judy is a member of Governor Hickenlooper’s Sales Tax Task Force charged with studying ways to simplify one of the most complex sales tax regimes in the nation. Judy is also a board member of the Simplify Colorado Sales Tax coalition of businesses and stakeholders who want to see a fair sales tax system that is both equitable and easier.

These awards honor women for their accomplishments in 13 categories: architecture, engineering and construction; banking, finance and accounting; communications, media and public relations; education, government and nonprofits; energy; health care; large business owners (more than 20 employees); law; lifetime achievement; Mile High Leaders; real estate; small business owner (20 or less employees); and technology and telecommunication.
