Jay Hynek – Senior Manager

Jay Hynek is a senior tax manager with more than 20 years of pubic- and private-accounting experience in state income tax and advisory solutions for corporate and flow-through entities. He also assists in the management and review of federal tax returns for consolidated returns and combined reporting for both domestic and foreign entities.

Jay also has experience working with state governments successfully resolving audit inquiries and outstanding tax matters in ways that minimize tax liabilities and establish agreed upon methodologies to reduce state income tax audit exposure. He further assists and supports with state tax impact analysis and risk reduction activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Jay began his career with CH2MHill, now Jacobs Engineering, where he managed and reviewed state income tax and federal tax returns as well as examination details under audit. Jay also completed state tax calculations in accordance with ASC 740, including the state blended rate, federal to state adjustments, credits, and FIN 48 analysis. He has also spent time in public accounting with Big Four firms, including KPMG, PwC, and EY.

Jay is passionate about mentoring, both at work and in his free time, where he is a ski instructor and tennis coach at Mullen High School.
