The Colorado Retail Delivery Fee rate increase to 29 cents becomes effective July 1, 2024.

The Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) is adjusting for inflation the Retail Delivery Fee (RDF) with a rate increase from $0.28 to $0.29 effective July 1, 2024.


The CDOR has sent out reminders of the following.

  • Small business exemption: If a businesses’ retail sales were $500,000 or less during the prior calendar year, the business is exempt from paying the Retail Delivery Fee on retail deliveries during the subsequent year.
  • Online Account Access:
    • If you are unable to access the Retail Delivery Fee account online: You may have an access level below ‘Full Access’ and must modify the access to the account. To modify access, either log in as a user with ‘Full Access’ (generally the first login established for a business) or contact the Department using a method below.
    • Online Help: Go to Tax.Colorado.gov/ROL-help for assistance with setting up your account.

Takeaway

Depending on your method for invoicing, increasing the fee rate to 29 cents might be a manual adjustment. If you are using a software provider or other third-party to support your invoicing needs, check in with them to make sure the adjustment is made July 1, 2024.
